Why learn the Principles?

I have seen many people in this world, Muslims, behaving as if they don’t know anything about Islam, their religion. Muslims performing acts of Ibadah exactly as that, an act. The purpose behind them, lost and forgotten or perhaps never grasped in the first place. Why? I ask myself. Why don’t many Muslims practice Islam when the purpose, benefits and the harms have clearly been revealed. Lack of knowledge. When you don’t know why you are doing something it becomes a mere act and at other times you simply don’t do it because you see no purpose. Knowledge is very crucial for any voluntary act that we do or do not carry out. Without proper knowledge you cannot properly practice an act and get the desired acts. Especially in this constantly growing and developing world, man is nowhere without knowledge. We really need to understand the basic principles of Islam and instill them in our lives if we truly want to be successful in this world and the next.
