The month of Ramadan is a very special month filled with numerous blessings and virtues. The whole month is spent worshipping Allah and refraining from sins or unpleasant deeds like no other month in the year and the intensity and quality only increases as we move onto the last ten nights of this Holy and loved month. The main reason being the occurrence of Laylat-ul-Qadr ( Night of Decree).
The Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasalam) used to strive harder during these last ten days than any other days.
Laylat-ul-Qadr is the night of decree, the night on which the destiny of every creature is ordained for the following year.
How do we know which night is going to be Laylat ul Qadr? The answer is pretty simple, we don’t. We cannot be certain of the night of qadr as this information is not know to us. The hikmah behind this is that if we knew which night is laylat ul qadr we wouldn’t make the effort of ibadah, in the rest of the nights. So it is depicted from the various authentic ahadith that the night of Qadr changes from year to year.
We do however, have a few signs which can signal to that beautiful night full of blessings.
Ayesha ( May Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd-numbered nights of the last ten nights.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4/259
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Laylat al-Qadr is a pleasant night, neither hot nor cold, and the following day the sun rises red and weak.”
Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah, 2912; Musnad al Tayaalisi
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Laylat al-Qadr is a bright night, neither hot nor cold, in which no meteors are seen.”
Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 3/179; Musnad Ahmad
It is not essential for the one who “catches” Laylat al-Qadr to know that he has “caught” it. The point is to strive hard and to be sincere in worship, whether or not one knows that one has “caught” it. It may be that some of those who do not know that may be better with Allaah and higher in status than those who did know which night it was, because the former strove hard. We ask Allaah to accept our fasting our prayer at night, and to help us to remember Him and to thank Him and to worship Him properly. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad.

Just Four Words…

Assalam u alaikum, today I thought as my initial post I would share something that will benefit you immensely. In today’s time everyone is busy, trying to catch up on things before time runs out. We want to carry out acts of ibadah but it can seem time consuming. What we forget is that Allah made this religion as an ease for us, not to cause difficulty.
There are many times, you can see in the Quran or the Shariah where situations are simplified and made easy. We have many dua’as and acts of worship which don’t take much time while not cutting from the rewards. For example,
How beautiful it is that Islam does not enforce you to just sit all day in remembrance to gain great reward. You can simply recite these four words and receive immense reward..
Again putting emphasis on the quality and not the quantity. Do ponder over the translation of these four words and try to catch the powerful meaning and you will see how these are heavier on the scale than a whole morning’s worth of regular remembrance.
