Do you ever go through problems and tough situations and bear them thinking they’re just normal tests of this Dunya?

Being human I believe we do this out of habit. Sometimes, more than we’d like to admit, we just let situations overwhelm us or cause us stress because we think it’s normal or that it’s not such a big deal and we can get through it.

But why wait and get through it? Yes being patient is always recommended and preached in Islam but another thing that’s also recommended is precaution.

Precaution over cure. It’s better to try and prevent a stressful situation instead of letting it happen and then try to solve it. And Allah has made Islam so beautiful and complete that there is always a way out of a difficulty if we turn to Allah and ask for His Protection and Blessings. A powerful and simple dua that you can use daily before doing any act that you’d like ease in is

A short and simple dua that can be memorized easily.

Try and make it a habit of reciting this before doing anything to attain ease an Allah’s blessings in all your tasks.

Remember, the best way to make a dua is with sincere intentions and to have firm complete Faith in Allah and His Abilities.

Let me know, if this dua makes a difference in your life.

The night better than a thousand months

The night better than a thousand months

The month of Ramadan is a very special month filled with numerous blessings and virtues. The whole month is spent worshipping Allah and refraining from sins or unpleasant deeds like no other month in the year and the intensity and quality only increases as we move onto the last ten nights of this Holy and loved month. The main reason being the occurrence of  Laylat-ul-Qadr ( Night of Decree).

The Prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasalam) used to strive harder during these last ten days than any other days.

Laylat-ul-Qadr is the night of decree, the night on which the destiny of every creature is ordained for the following year.

When is Laylat ul Qadr?

How do we know which night is going to be Laylat ul Qadr? The answer is pretty simple, we don’t. We cannot be certain of the night of qadr as this information is not know to us. The hikmah behind this is that if we knew which night is laylat ul qadr we wouldn’t make the effort of ibadah, in the rest of the nights. So it is depicted from the various authentic ahadith that the night of Qadr changes from year to year.

We do however, have a few signs which can signal to that beautiful night full of blessings.

Signs of Laylat-ul-Qadr

  •  It is of the odd-numbered nights.

Ayesha ( May Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd-numbered nights of the last ten nights.

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4/259

  •  The night is a soft, gentle, and peaceful night. Not too cold and not too hot, perfectly comfortable.

the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Laylat al-Qadr is a pleasant night, neither hot nor cold, and the following day the sun rises red and weak.”

Saheeh Ibn Khuzaymah, 2912; Musnad al Tayaalisi

  • As mentioned in the above hadith, the sun rises the following day without visible sun rays, red and weak.

  • The night is bright.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Laylat al-Qadr is a bright night, neither hot nor cold, in which no meteors are seen.”

Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 3/179; Musnad Ahmad

It is not essential for the one who “catches” Laylat al-Qadr to know that he has “caught” it. The point is to strive hard and to be sincere in worship, whether or not one knows that one has “caught” it. It may be that some of those who do not know that may be better with Allaah and higher in status than those who did know which night it was, because the former strove hard. We ask Allaah to accept our fasting our prayer at night, and to help us to remember Him and to thank Him and to worship Him properly. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad.

Ramadan 1442

Ramadan 1442

MARIAM AHMAD

Writer of the post, Creator, and Founder of JDD

Ramadan Mubarak!! We’re almost to the end of the first week of Ramadan and it still doesn’t feel like Ramadan. I’m not sure if that’s just me or you guys feel that too.

Last year was a very different Ramadan, the Masjids were closed here and everyone was in lockdown. This year, although the lockdown has been lifted and the mosques are open, it still feels like something is missing. Is it that solitude and solace or that motivation everybody had to build in their homes themselves so as not to lose the essence of Ramadan amidst the whole pandemic.

“Whenever you are alone remind yourself that Allah has sent everyone away so that there is only you and him .”

RUMI

For me personally, last Ramadan was the best one. I was all alone, and with not having work I could stay up all night to focus on my ibadah. I had managed to pray all the Taraweeh at home without feeling tired or sleepy and each salah was very personal and close to the heart. The connection developed with Allah was of closeness and awareness of Him.

Praying at the masjid is definitely great and creates a sense of unity, which is necessary but during the salah, the pace is different than it would be when you are having a one on one conversation with Allah. But then again, that’s what the sunnah prayers are for.

This year, my emphasis is on enhancing my relationship with Allah by studying His Names and Attributes resulting in a better and deeper knowledge of Him as well as developing a deeper understanding of the Quran by studying Tafseer and listening to lectures of the stories and lessons of each Juz.  Insha’Allah I will share all that I have learned, here on my website one by one, so that you may benefit as well.

I pray that Allah makes this Ramadan one to remember and to make it beneficial for us and for us to leave Ramadan with His mercy and Forgiveness. May this Ramadan change our hearts for the better and May we be blessed with the opportunity to experience Laylat ul Qadar. Ameen

“And they fall upon their faces weeping, and the Quran increases them in humble submission.”
